Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

This is template legal language. Have an attorney review it before relying on it for your jurisdiction (including GDPR/ePrivacy and CCPA obligations specific to your data flows).

This Cookie Policy explains how HiProSEO ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on hiproseo.com and in the HiProSEO dashboard. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let a site remember things between requests — for example, that you are signed in. "Similar technologies" includes localStorage, which we use for a small number of preferences.

2. What we use — and what we don't

We use only essential / functional cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics cookies on hiproseo.com, and the optional tag.hiproseo.com snippet sets no cookies on your visitors.

3. Cookies and local storage we set

NameTypePurposeRetention
__session / Clerk auth cookies Essential Keeps you signed in to the dashboard and protects against cross-site request forgery. Set by our authentication provider, Clerk. Session / up to ~1 year for the device token
Theme preference Functional (localStorage) Remembers your light/dark theme choice. Until you clear it
hps_cookie_ack_v1 Functional (localStorage) Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so we don't show it again. Until you clear it
Stripe cookies Essential (third-party) Set only on payment/checkout pages by Stripe to process payments securely and prevent fraud. Per Stripe's policy

4. Why we don't show a consent toggle

Under GDPR/ePrivacy, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent, and we set nothing else. Because we run no advertising or analytics cookies, there is nothing non-essential to switch off — so we show a brief notice instead of a granular consent manager. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

5. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings (see your browser's help pages). Blocking essential cookies will stop you from being able to sign in to the dashboard. You can clear the functional preferences above at any time by clearing your browser's site data for hiproseo.com.

6. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
